Something Like SuperAlert for Smartphones?

I am about to get an Audiovox SMT 5600. I was looking at the program SuperAlert for the Pocket PC. Is there a similar program for smartphones? SuperAlert will continually alert you to a pending voicemail, email, etc. This is something I could really use as I don't check my phone continually and then I see I have had a voicemail an hour or so back. Really would like to find a program that would make the phone continue to beep, ring, something to alert me that I had pending incoming.

I know that this is something that a lot of people are looking for. I haven't come across anything yet - that doesn't mean there isn't something out there. And I do know that a couple different developers are looking into this. So hopefully we'll know more soon. ;)
