Is there smartphone software that will make the phone work as an audio level meter, to measure the amount of decibels, etc.?
It should be possible, with the built-in microphone. In fact, I have seen software that will make the smartphone function as a music tuner, to recognize the pitch being played, whether it is in tune, or flat or sharp.

It looks in fact, like they make such audio level meter software as well, but not for the Smartphone OS. (I tried to write to them, at the address on the website, and ask if they will come out with a SM version, and the e-mail bounced.) (They have it for PPC and Palm.)
