What's really unclear at this point is why? Just 1 day after London is awarded the 2012 olympics, and a couple days before the G8 meeting. Or could this all be in response to their efforts in the war on terror?

So far the reports I've seen seem to vary greatly in details. Some report 2 dead, while others are claiming hundreds. It's a crazy world we got here. Sad.

I hope that any 'Thought's readers in the area and their families are safe.

Sky News (http://www.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30000-13382111,00.html) has a good timeline of the events. At least it's the best time line I've seen so far. Also, here (http://static.sky.com/images/pictures/1312751.jpg) is a picture of mapping out where the explosions took place in comparison to each other.

The Register say that the phone network is suffering under the load. (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/07/07/london_phone/) I could not get through to friends and used sms texts to check they were all OK.

It brings everything into perspective. :(

My step brother usually rides that train to work. Fortunately, he had to go to the other office today, and thus didn't take the train.

The phone networks usually get saturated with everyone trying to call everyone else. It's not uncommon for them to suffer under these events. Usually just from sheer volume.

The cell networks suffered here on 9/11 pretty bad. On the bright side, it appears that people are smart enough to figure that out and we don't see a bunch of "The terrorists have hit the cell phones" screamings coming out.

Hard to imagine that any person could believe that horrid acts like this will bring about positive change. Things will only worsen for all involved. My prayers are with our British friends.

My deepest condolences to the families, friends and fellow man of those that perished on this sad moment in history. This is not only an act of unmentionable poportions against London; it is an act against humanity itself, and does not right anything at all.

These heathens attacked the USA (Twin Towers) before the liberation of Iraq.

They have murdered innocent civilians in Lebanon & Israel for decades.

Don't look for excuses, they don't have any.

They have an utter disregard for humanity & the only solution is to hunt them down & wipe them off the face of the Earth.
