Outlook sync and attachments

I just got rid of my MPX220 (what a piece of crap) and got the Audiovox 5600. Despite the numerous problems with the MPX220, I was able to view my Word and Excel attachments in my Outlook emails. For some reason, I can't view attachments with the 5600. Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a program I can purchase that will allow me to simply view an attachment within my email without having to save the attachment and view it in another program? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I'm not too familiar with the MPx220, however it must have come with some sort of image viewer for Office documents. It's not as standard as it is on the Pocket PC.

There are a couple viewers available to choose from; Resco and ClearVue

I don't suppose you're using your Audiovox on Cingular? If so there's a promotion that will get you the Clear Vue Suite of MS Office attachment viewers for free.

Yes, Cingular has a free promo for ClearVue. However, I hope you can configure this yorself and not have to rely on Cingular as they have little to no knowledge of this phone or the software. I have been thoroughly unimpressed with them and will not be going back.

When I try to access an email with an attachment, I can see the word attachment and the name of the file, but that's it. If I sync, then go to Outlook, it's there and I can read it. I thought the ClearVue s-ware was supposed to allow me to view these attachments from within my email.
Any ideas?

I don't know if you can set pocket outlook to automatically download attachments. You can set the amount of the message body it will download.
I'm Synching to Exchange and I have pocket outlook set to download 0.5K of the message. If there's an attachment it shows up with a document icon. Click on it and a red arrow shows up indicating that the document will be synched to the handheld on the next activesync which can either happen according to your wireless schedule or you can do it manually. When the attachment has synched to the handheld there's a magnifying glass over the document icon indicating that you can view it with Clear Vue.
