I'm fortunate to enough to have a Smartphone running Windows Mobile 5. I've sent Unlike the Pocket PC version of OS, the Smartphone version isn't as discoverable - meaning it's hard to see what's new by button-pressing your way through the menus. I sent my C500 away to see if I could get my horrible dust problem solved, so I'm now using the WM5 Smartphone as my one and only one. Over the next few days I'll be posting my thoughts about using the phone, changes that I've noticed in WM5, and general impressions about the new operating system. Feel free to ask questions as we go!

Thanks Jason for keeping posted.
One initial question, what brand and model phone are you using?

Is your beta version running fairly stable? I had a WM5 beta loaded for a little bit and found it not really stable enough for everyday use. Also I was looking forward to the T9 searching in the Media Player library, but the version I had didn't seem to include that. Wasn't that a feature demo'd during the WM5 release?

Edit: I can't answer that question, sorry.

Thanks Jason...I saw that in your latest post.
I am not looking forward to getting a new phone and dealing with reinstalling all my software again. But, I will when the time is right I guess.

Reinstalling is always a pain, but it would be worth it for a new phone.

Yeah, Microsoft or a third party developer would do well to create a device migration tool...

this is why im trying to find a way to create a cab/setup program that will install all my most frequently used programs with just one click. ive created a couple like that for my laptop since i test a lot of different operating systems and have to reinstall often. this way i can just open one program and sit back while it takes care of the rest.
so far though i havent had much luck for the smartphone but if i do ill put the program online since it will contain 100% freeware (betaplayer, pocketnotepad, agile messanger, rjv secure inbox, smartvnc, thems, etc :))
