I just bought an SMT 5600 and so far, so good. The problem is, I can't seem to associate a custom alert tone to voicemail. It's an MP3 file, and I've put copies of it as well as a WAV and a WMA version in a number of different folders. I can select it as my standard ringtone so I know it is there. But when I try to call it up for my voicemail ringtone, it's not even showing in the list of available sounds.

Also, is there a way to disable the animated screen for an incoming call AND keep photo ID/caller ID active?

Thanks.

All your ringtones should go in 1 place: //Storage/Application Data/Sounds

I haven't had any problems changing the voicemail notification sound. Try making a version at 96 or 128. I also use WMA, although MP3 and wav should work.

Ya, you change change the template. I just disabled the photo caller ID, but you should be able to find other templates or create some that don't have the annoying animations. :)

Thanks for the advice. As far as chnging for alerts, I found out I have to use WAV. Other formats will work for standard ringtones, but only WAV for alerts.

With the photo ID, I don't want to turn it off as I have a lot of photos associated with my contacts. However, I'm not sure how to change (or create) the template so I don't get the flashing animations on incoming calls. Can you point me in the right direction?

I haven't done it myself so I can't comment on how well this works - if at all. Check out this thread (http://www.modaco.com/Answer_Screen_PITS-t118428.html) from MoDaCo. It should help you out. :)
