I recently downloaded and installed, and purchased the newest Xbar. Nice applet, using with SMT5600.

The installation program created a link To Xbar in the Startup menu, so Xbar is supposed to start up at bootup.

Although that link is there, somehow it doesn't work. Xbar does not startup automatically with Windows as it should. I press and hold the action key to call up Xbar, and nothing comes up. Then I have to manually start Xbar from the Start menu, in order to be able to call it up with the Action key.

Why isn't Xbar starting up automatically, even though there is a link to it in the Startup menu?

I sent an e-mail to Xbar tech support about this problem, but received no reply.

Where did you install xbar? It will work from the memory card but because of what gets configured first it may not start up from there on boot. Install it in main memory if you havent. Its pretty small. :)

That is probably the problem. Thanks for the tip. I have installed everything on the memory card. I have a 512 MB card, and the phone's internal memory is pretty small, and shared with program memory. So, as a matter of course, I install everything to the storage card.

It would seem to make sense that if a progam does not run correctly when installed on the storage card, loses any functionality, auto-start, etc., there should be a warning to that effect on installation, advising against installation on the memory card. Xbar certainly didn't have such a warning, nor any other software that I can recall installing on the SM. (Listening, developers?)

I guess I'll have to uninstall Xbar and reinstall in main memory.

Are there other programs that do not function as well when installed on the memory card? Perhaps we can compile a list here.
