You're 512MB mini-SD card is nearing it's capacity? You want to carry more music? Videos? Pictures? Or perhaps you're just a memory card junkie, like me. Regardless of your reason, here's the card for you, 1 GB of miniSD storage for $78.95 including a miniSD to SD converter in case you need to plug this into some ancient device. ;) For more details or to order one, check out Amazon's website. [Affiliate]

I'm hoping I'm mistaken, but I thought I read somewhere that the storage card capacity on the Smartphone platform tops-out @ 512Mb? :? Can't remember where I was reading it, but they related it to the early limitations on digital camera storage capacities. Please tell me I'm wrong because I could really use this with "Mobile Media Maker" on long trips!

It is the case with the Motorola MPx220... 512MB is the limit on that model. :(

Mauricio,
That's not what I've read. I can't say for sure, since I don't have a MPx220, or a 1GB card (yet ;) ) but Eric over at MGN tested a 1GB miniSD in a MPx220 and there was no problems. He also tested one in a SMT5600, and no problems with that phone either.
Here's a link to his review of the 1GB card. http://www.mpx200.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7821

Well I ordered my 1GB Mini-SD a few weeks ago now and still haven't recieved it. I'm based in the UK and the people (Fotosense.co.uk) I've ordered from stated:
"We are expecting stock within the next 1-2 weeks . Worldwide
shortage."
Not what I wanted to read but I'm looking forward to it! I have an SPV C500 and although I wouldn't mind having an iPOD or other MP3 player I'd rather have one device in my pocket at anyone time!
I am aware that mobymemory has stock of this but it costs 20 pounds more...!

Too bad they are not 60x like ATPs.
Mike: About the anciend devices, remember laptops also use sd and they aren't ancient ;-)

So why does the link to the Amazon vendor list it for $89.99? Did the price jump already? :?
I did, however, find a few sites via pricegrabber that had it for less. Several were out of stock, but Page Computers has it for $70.07.

the rumors are that it does work on smart phones such as the mpx220, but I have not been able to confirm this.

I can certainly confirm a 1G card works in an SMT5600. I got the biggest card available since I didn't relish pulling the back and battery off to change out cards. Hadn't bothered to stick it in the MPX220, as I don't use that phone much.

Hi, I am planning to buy minisd for SMT 5600 phone. Was wondering can it support 1GB mini SD card confirmed ? Also any good deals on 1GB mini SD cards if the phone supports it ? Is there a more technical manual on the phone anywhere ? The best i can find is at ecost.com for 75 bucks. Not sure whether this card supports high speed data transfer. What is the difference between a normal miniSD card and a 60X miniSD card ? can i see real difference when i put a high speed miniSD card in this phone ?
