External Display Does Not Work with Camera: MPx220 (what else)

Has anyone else seen this problem? When you start the camera and close the phone you are supposed to see the image on the external LCD so you can take self pics. It used to work and I hadn't tried it for a while. It doesn't work anymore it seems.

Why would you even consider another Motorola phone? Since I found this forum last fall, I don't think I have seen a positive comment by you about any of their current products.

Well I seem to have solved my own problem. Sometime back I had removed the caller ID program from the "start up" folder so it wouldn't run. When I replaced the shortcut for this back into the that folder thereby enabling it viola! The external LCD once again worked as a camera viewer.
