Using Avvenu on my new MPX220..how to read word docs?

Hello Everyone. Long time reader, first time poster.

I recently activated the unlimited data plan on my new MPX220 through cingular after seeing a demonstration of a product called Avvenu at the 2005 DEMO conference. So far I have enjoyed being able to access all my computer's content anywhere I go, but I can't seem to find a program that will allow me to open Word documents. I just get a screen that says file type not recognized.

Does anyone know of a good word document viewer for the MPX220?

The MPx220 ships with a doc viewer. Look for an app called "File Viewer" in the Start Menu. And then browse to the folder where you put the doc files. :-)

An alternative: ClearVue (http://www.westtek.com/smartphone/) is a good viewer app.

Thanks for you advice. I will try out Clearview and see if it works well with Avvenu.

I was under the impression that you wanted to view the documents already on the phone.

Sorry, I didn't check out Avvenu before posting my reply. :oops:

It seems Avvenu offers its own built in viewers. Or does it download the file onto the phone. (I haven't used Avvenu and its website talks mostly about photos. And doesn't have much about Word and other doc types.)

ClearVue and the built in MPx220 File Viewer app will only work for mail attachments and documents that have been downloaded on to your phone's memory or SD card.
