Hi All,

Any suggestions on bluetooth headset for audiovox smt5600?

I live in toronto so looking for something that I can get in Canada if possible, otherwise I suppose I could order through mail order.

Thanks!

Just about any Bluetooth headset should work with the phone. I'm using a Motorola HS810. I would suggest going to a store like Wireless Wave, and getting one from them. See if they'll even allow you to test it out first.

I've been using Bluetrek G2 for a while, and it works OK for me.

A friend just recently purchased the Cardo Scala 500, and I have the opportunity to use it for a few hours. I found the Cardo much more comfortable than the Bluetrek G2, plus the Cardo noise cancellation mic. seems to work rather well. Overall sound & voice quality were also superior to my G2. I am thinking about making the switch to the Cardo.

Ecost has it for $38.99 (http://www.ecost.com/ecost/ecsplash/shop/detail~dpno~511668.asp)

Thanks for the feedback guys!!

I decided to contact Dell to see what they have and they had the M2500 from plantronics on promo for 65$ cdn so I went with that for now. No cost for shipping, just add the taxes.

Will let you know how it works when I get my hands on it!

If anyone is interested in the Cardo Scala 500, Amazon has it for $39.99, free shipping. A lot more trustworthy than eCost and the like too ;)

Your comments about the improved sound of the Cardo have peaked my interest about this product. I've been using the Bluetrek G2 and have been very happy with the sound quality on both ends of the connection.

If the Cardo has superior sound it must be excellent considering my experience with the G2. My only complaint regarding the G2 has been one of comfort. After using the G2 for some time the band on the earpiece doesn't hold its shape as well as it used to making it more difficult for a comfortable secure fit for extended periods.

Thanks for the heads up on Amazon, I love their store ( a little bit too much ;) )

Do you know something about eCost you want to share with the rest of us?

I've been using Ecost for several years and have yet to have a problem with them.

The smaller e-tailers like eCost, Newegg, and Compu Plus are not always the best deals on the net but they are many times and I use them frequently.

IMHO, Newegg is in a completely different league from eCost. I haven't heard any good things about eCost and they have a bad rating on RR. http://www.resellerratings.com/seller1932.html - on the contrary, people can't say enough good things about Newegg.
Amazon is a lot better - most people only go to smaller stores for cheaper prices and/or better service. eCost has neither.

Hope it's not too late for you, but this same headset goes for $39.99 at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002T58BA/qid=1114539486/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/002-3429396-0551240?v=glance&s=wireless&n=507846). Free shipping to boot.

Well-----which is better--Plantronics (they have a few models, don't they?), Cardo, or what? :?:
