I've been in a holding pattern for about a month concerning buying a new laptop. Part of me wants to buy a Powerbook, but the one hold out are my Windows Mobile devices. I guess thats two.
I know some may say that that is such a small thing. But if your PDA is an integral part of your life, having to limit its usefulness is a big deal.
I know there is this program and PocketMac that pretty much cover the basic PIM stuff to varying degrees. But my concern is everything else. Like syncing with Quicken. Like syncing PhatNotes. And that one "killer app" that someone will develop down the line and not bother to support the mac.
I've been going back and forth as to whether I could live with that. If VirtualPC was a solution, then it would be that much easier. But I've nothing but frustration about this route.
I wonder what other Mac users are doing. Are they okay with the desktop integration limitation? Perhaps most of them only ever desire to sync the basic PIM stuff. Who knows?

I made the jump to MAC in February and have been using the PocketMAC. It works but not like it should and not like a I want it to. One key feature missing from PocketMAC is email support. My inquiry to PocketMAC was not now and they didn't know when.
So this is good news for me but why announce it today if its going to be two more months? It will get lost in the deluge of other announcements. Maybe they will deliver it sooner? I just can't believe PocketMAC doesn't see email as something SmartPhone users would want to sync 8O .

This is less important to me - I use Virtual PC to sync at home, and most of my data is synced OTA with my employer's ActiveSync server anyway. But if there is a beta program I will test it. I have used Missing Sync for quite a while for my Sony TH-55 and the Palm version is a very nice program.

I think you're the first person that I've ever heard successfully syncing on VirtualPC. Do you actually run ActiveSync on a MAC successfully?

I have been doing ActiveSync's with Virtual PC with both my hx4700 and my MPx200. However, I only do so to load programs that don't have .cab files. I still use PocketMac to sync both because they sync with iSync and the iApps.
