Hmmm, I have no idea what went wrong but maybe the ROM version 1.30.0.0 (designed for Cingular customers only) wasn't that good as expected?"</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/MPx220.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/moto_mpx220_rom_update.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />Gee, this is shocking news isn't it? While it is too soon to speculate I will anyway. I'm going to give Motorola a break here and guess something is not quite right with the install process itself. I'm going to guess that they have only had 2 months or so to work on this and it just isn't enough time. I'm going to guess that the 1.30.0.0 ROM is as solid as it has been since it came out 2 months ago. It's alright Motorola, we understand. :way to go:

Well, if we're really lucky, they're putting out an updated ROM. Although I'll bet it's just a normal server outage...

I've used the install on two MPx220's and it went flawlessly each time. I really like how they implemented the backup for the phone's important settings.

I'm impressed. If Moto really does this right, I'll say something nice about them in at least one post.

I hope they pulled it off to update the tool with a newer version. &lt;fingers-crossed>

I wish you hadn't said that. I had that thought too and didn't want to jinx it. :multi:

Do any of you have the 1.30 update file to share with me? I just got a mpx220 off ebay with the oldest ROM and the low volume problem is really bad.

Thanks,
Larry B.

You would think after all of this, that Motorola would communicate what is going on. Of course that would imply "customer care". A term Motorola is unfamiliar with.

I have an ATT Mpx220 with .343

Is 1.3 Cingular a true upgrade or just a numbering game. Considering you are deafened by the Motorola Chime at power on, it would be nice to have a speakerphone that has some volume, or be able to make an outside call without my BT headset.

I'm starting to feel like Arvin Sloane from "Alias" - always wearing my BT250. BTW, anyone else noticve that each time they show Sloane with a water carafe and glass its a different set?
