What is the purpose of "My TV" on Windows Media Player?

To answer your question the "My TV" listing, it's there for one reason: if you have a Windows Media Center Edition PC it records TV shows in the MS-DVR format. When Windows Media Player 10 sees the MS-DVR files, and you ask it to transfer the files over to a mobile device (Smartphone, Pocket PC, Portable Media Centre) it will transcode the MS-DVR file to a WMV file compatible with your device...and it will show up under My TV. Other video files just show up under video.
