I had a trial version of HTTP Mail Provider Smartphone Edition by Adrian Software. This allowed me to setup MSN mail as another option to choose under messaging, much like Outlook. There is no need to go to a link in your favorites. Your MSN email is automatically checked by your phone according to the options selected. Well, today my trial expired and I no longer get MSN mail. It's not a big deal to purchase the software ($6.99), but I was wondering if this is necessary. Can it be setup without the added software? I did try to set it up, but, without the Adrian Software, there is not an HTTP selection available as a server type. Thanks.

The default mail software doesn't support HTTPmail. :( It also doesn't support HTML mail :evil: but that's another story...

So, the answer is no. You need a third party tool, and the one you've been using is a really good one. :)

Thanks for the info. Just ran across something called IzyMail. It's free. I tried the settings they suggested and it actually works. Any reason that you know of that I should be concerned. It goes through incoming/outgoing server names as in.izymail.com and out.izymail.com.

As noted in my reply above, I configured my phone, using IzyMail settings found on their site, and everything worked fine. It "appeared" to be free. But, I just now received an email saying that I was using a 15 day trial version. I then searched long and hard to find out the cost was $12/year. Not a chance. I am going to purchase the HTTP Mail software from Adrian Software.

When I was testing this software for the smartphone, it was ignoring my download limits. i.e. I told it to download only today's messages and it downloaded ALL messages. Is it still doing that?

I keep minimal messages in my Inbox so I don't set a limit. Sorry, not sure.
