The device supposedly features 176 x 220 internal TFT display and 128 x 96 external one, has one mega pixel still camera with MPEG4 video recording and can play MP3, WMA, and AAC sound files. The phone will come with 64 MB ROM and 32 MB RAM plus a miniSD memory expansion slot. The phone also follows recent trend from Samsung and is Bluetooth capable."</i><br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20050217-Samsung_SGH-i270.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />I looked around on the FCC site, but I wasn't very successful in finding any more info on this phone. It's nice to see that Samsung is starting to include Bluetooth in their devices. I'm going to guess that this phone is CDMA based, just like the other Samsung's are. With FCC approval out of the way, it won't be too much longer before this is seen in the stores, hopefully.

This could be good. It's not ugly looking either.

I think I found the FCC Link...no photos..

Search for FCC ID A3L Product Code SGHI270 (https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&amp;RequestTimeout=500&amp;calledFromFrame=N&amp;application_id=156885&amp;fcc_id='A3LSGHI270') also this one. (https://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/oet/cf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&amp;RequestTimeout=500&amp;calledFromFrame=N&amp;application_id=575548&amp;fcc_id='A3LSGHI270')

Check out the photo of the label. It seems this is a GSM phone. I see the SIM card slot. Or is it dual mode phone. :?

There was older mention of the i250 at last years shows.
maybe the i250 is GSM and the i270 is CDMA, or vice versa.

Most interesting part to this phone... 64 MB ROM... preparing for the next generation MS Mobile version perhaps?

I really doubt this is CDMA, since the i640 is slated to come out on Verizon, right?

Slated? You know something I don't? I've been asking all over the place about this one. My i600 is in need of replacement and this is the next obvious choice even though it still has no bluetooth. I can't do the v710 because of the crappy way that Verizon crippled it.

Almost considered going to Cingular so I can get a mpx220 but the costs were prohibitive.

This Site has a pic of the i640 with the Verizon logo on it, looks like Verizon will sell it but when will they add it to their line up? I have Verizon now but since they don't have any decent Smartphones I'll probably get a new contract with Cingular to get an up to date smartphone when my contract is up in March. The i640 sounds Ok but why doesn't it have Bluetooth?

Samsung have publically stated that they want to use Windows Mobile for CDMA and Symbian for GSM. I'd assume that this is a CDMA device then.

I think you're right on this. The i270 appears to be GSM, so I think the i250 is CDMA. The two phones look identical. I'm guessing that the network will be the difference between them.

Note that the full model is SGH-i270. All of their CDMA phones start with either SCH or SPH, and all of their GSM phones are SGH. I still maintain this thing is GSM. ;) I haven't had a chance to look at the FCC docs though.

Ok, so reverse my comments above. I have to admit that I don't know much about the Samsung phones.
