At RadioShack stores, consumers will be able to browse Jamdat content such as games and ring tones before purchasing them for download, Jamdat said Friday. The distribution program is scheduled to begin in the first half of this year. ... Demand for wireless-content offerings--including ring tones, games, screensavers and wallpaper--is on an upswing."</i><br /><br /> <img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/RadioShack.gif" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />Given the popularity of these item, I am not surprised by RadioShack's announcement. This might be the beginning of an interesting trend, electronic stores like Best Buy and Circuit City may also decide to carry ring tones and games for their cell phone customers.

This is good. Now they have something else to try to sell us when we go in for a battery.

"Do you have a cell phone"
'Yes in fact I have 2'
"Would you like another one?"
'You're kidding right?'
"How about a ring tone then?"

I have never understood why RadioShack is so aggressive about selling cellphone and voice plans. I totally forgot that now they will have one more annoying question to ask.

Oh they are way over the top. Last week I went in for a network cable. I got 3 hard pitches for a new cell phone and when that failed, he started trying to sell me batteries. I can just see it now as you race towards the door to get out of there they are yelling behind you.....'What about some nice rinnnggggg tonnesss?'
