Do you have a talent for writing and a desire to share you opinions with others? If so, you might be just the type of person we're seeking for the Smartphone Thoughts review team. We've got the news coverage pretty much nailed on this site, so now it's time to turn our focus to publishing reviews of the latest hardware and software for your Smartphones. If you're like to be a part of that, keep reading! We're looking for individuals who enjoy trying out new software and hardware for their Smartphones, and who are willing to share what they find with our community. Above all, reviewers enjoy writing on a subject they're passionate about – the biggest difference between a Smartphone Thoughts reviewer and a reviewer from a mainstream publication is a personal commitment and interest in the subject matter.Being on the review team is a volunteer position, but hey, fame and glory last forever right? ;-) Reviewers will have the opportunity to try out the latest Smartphone software and hardware (some of which they'll get to keep), and be given an opportunity to share their findings with the greater community. Smartphone Thoughts is a professional publication with established copy editing and layout procedures, so if you're looking to gain experience as a writer, writing for us is good training.<!>In order to qualify for a position on the review team, we're asking those who are interested to write a sample review of a Smartphone software title or accessory that they own. The review should be between 500 and 1000 words in length, should be of a current product that's available on the market today, and be based on the Thoughts Media Inc. review template (<a href="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/reviewtemplate.doc">DOC</a>|<a href="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/reviewtemplate.pdf">PDF</a>). Reviews will be judged on the quality of writing (spelling, grammar, and terseness), the analytical skills of the reviewer, and the adherence to our template. While we have a talented copy editor to help polish up the reviews, you should submit a review that has been checked over several times for accurate spelling, grammar, and working hyperlinks. Sample reviews should be submitted as a single Word document with embedded images. Be sure to keep the original images in the event that your review is selected for publication (once graphics are embedded into a Word document, they lose quality when extracted). The only expectation for being on the review team is that you write one review a month. It's a volunteer position, but it's still important that everyone on the review team is productive and active. Obviously there are exceptions (illness, vacation, etc.) but if you want to have your work read by 10,000+ people a day, we need you to commit to writing one review a month. We will be accepting sample reviews up until February 21st, and by March 14th the new members of the Smartphone Thoughts review team will be announced on the site. Please submit your sample reviews to me via email (
[email protected]). If you have any questions that might be relevant to other reviewers, please ask them in this discussion thread. Otherwise, please send me an email, not a private message. Thank you!

I was wondering how would we get the programs & hardware to do the reviews? Do we pick from certain ones or are they sent type of thing?

Looks like your copy editor missed something
Sorry, I couldn't help myself, I'm completely joking around!!! I might try my hand at writing a review...

Both. You can pick the items you want to review, and quite often when we're contacted by vendors about their new hardware/software, we'd pass that along to the review team and say "Hey, anyone want to review this?".

Whenever you want any review in Spanish.. I'm your man ;) I'm sorry I lack enough English grammar to write reviews for this site, though I'd love it...
But, as I said, if you make a Spanish thread in your website, I would be more than pleased to help

Your written English seems perfect to me! Don't sell yourself short - it would be a good way to practice. :-)

Really? Heh, now I feel like a "fake it" contestant! (you know, that TV show where a guy must impersonate a professional in just 4 weeks of learning) ...
I'm Spanish and learnt English by myself, so that's a great acomplishment...
If you think I can do it, I think I can do it! Maybe I could give it a try... just let me find something to put my hands on, and I'll try to write a review for your site. Do you have any preference on it being software/hardware?
And finally, would it be a problem to get the items I would review to Spain? I don't know where this site is!

Hey LeChuck,
I would have to agree with Jason, your English is very good. Feel free to write a review on anything you have around. Hardware or software, it doesn't matter to us.
In regards to getting the stuff to you for review, it wouldn't be a problem, especially if it's software.

Well I'll try to make a review of my brand new MPX200 (it's a little outdated, but it's the only barely new thing I have at hand right now ;) It's been bought at a spanish phone operator, so I won't apply to other countries, but well, the hardware is the same.
I have an article about it in my spanish website... it's a tiny one, though as the site is not Smartphone Oriented, I think it's cool enough... http://burradas.webhop.net/article.php?story=200502181440221
