I have a Qtek 7070 with the SmartPhone 2002 OS and have been having a weird problem the last couple of nights..

The first night I had set the alarm to go off at 06:32. At 03:32 the alarm started beeping, I turned it off and went back to sleep again. Then at 05:32 the alarm went off again! Same drill, turn off alarm and back to bed. Luckily the alarm worked at 06:32 also. But in the morning I was a little uncertain if the alarm actually had beeped several times during the night - I was really groggy, so it seemed like I had dreamed it. Anyway, I let it pass as a one time thing.

The next night the exact same thing happened... Now I was thinking that I probably had dreamt it because I was thinking about it yesterday. So I decided that if the alarm went off tonight I would move the phone from my desk to my night table.

I turned my phone off and on again and then set the alarm to 07:00. The two previous nights I had my SmartPhone connected to the power charger, but not this night. At 05:00 it started beeping again. I turned it off, put it on my night table and went to sleep again. When the alarm went off at 07:00 it was at my night table - aha!

Now I know I'm not dreaming about my alarm going off all the time, but I know there's a problem with the SmartPhone... Any ideas?

Are you sure that you're not dreaming?

There are a couple third party alarm applications. You might want to try them, and see if there is any difference. I don't use my Smartphone as an alarm. I really should, but my Pocket PC works really well, and it's so quick and easy to set.

With the skin/theme I'm using I can just press enter at the home screen and it takes me to the alarm settings :D

I hope the alarm starts behaving before my internship interview on Thursday. Don’t know if I can trust my schizophrenic SmartPhone to be my alarm clock anymore…

Well, I'm running 2003 SE, but I will try and set an alarm this morning, and see how things go. :)

I set the alarm for 06:32 last night, and it went of at 05:32 as well as 06:32 again... Bollocks...

Weird. At first I thought it was a time zones issue. But doesn't look like it. :?

The only thing I can think off. In the alarm settings set it to OFF or no alarm. And see what happens.

If it rings then you know that there is a ghost in your phone.

If it doesn't, re-set it to your preferred/original time. And see how it goes. All the best.

Isn't it amazing how much of a problem alarms are for these devices? Even some Pocket PC's don't seem to know how to wake up. :?

I use WakeupTweak, Pocket Plus and MemMaid's duplicate notification remover to get around this. No issues so far! :)

Were you in a different timezone at any point. When you created the alarm? If so, switch the phone to that timezone, turn off the alarm. switch back to your timezone and create the alarm.
