okay, after searching left and right for a decent case for my MPx220 I think I finally found the ticket. (sorry about the large pics but I cant stand it when people post 2 inch X 2 inch pics of their phones or etc.... I like to look at nice, clear pics without having to squint to see what I'm looking at. :p )

it came from Cingular and I lke it. some people will say that cases like these absolutely kill the looks and appearance of a phone but I dont think its too bad considering how much protection the phone will have.

here's some pics:

http://mywebpages.comcast.net/ozziegn1/mpx220_2.jpg

as you can see from the next two pics, the case does not obstruct any buttons or the SD access port. I cant say that about past cases for my other phones.

this shot shows how nice the case clears the phone's connector. again, nothing in the way when using the data cable or battery charger,

and last but not least, a shot of what the case looks like on the inside.

-all in all I've very happy with this case and I feel like its top notch quality unlike what you'd see from one of these $15 Best Buy cases that either dont fit worth a darn or they just plain outright look like doggy-doo.

oh, and did I also mention that I only paid $10.99 for the case shipped 2nd day FedEx from Cingular? it pays to have really good friends on the inside. ;)

You can order this case from the following site:
http://cingular.scp4me.com/ItemDetail.aspx?ItemNo=44311CW&make=MOTOROLA&model=MPX220&ProductClass=CARRYING

YOu can also try a Cingular store, but that is hit or miss. In My area one store had it, while several others didn't.

Awesome photos. First time, I am seeing pictures taken on a Canon Powershot A80. Very crisp, does justice to the case.

I finally found this case at one of the Cingular stores here in San Antonio. Seems to be pretty tough to come by, right now anyway. This is a very nice case, well worth the $20. (It was $23-something after tax.) The upper part doesn't slide up & down when you open & close the phone. IMO, this case is 100x better than the Cachet case I previously bought at Best Buy.

yeah, I love my A80.

I use to be in the whole DSLR camera scene with the expensive "L" glass lenses and such and in the end, I quite often found myself looking at $5K worth of my camera equipment sitting around, collecting dust.

I finally wisened up and sold it all for 95% of what I paid for it and bought my A80. the pics look almost as nice as my DSLR pics but of course at a MUCH cheaper price.

the only thing I miss about my DSLR camera was the lightning fast auto focusing. no regular, pocket point-n-shoot camera can hold a candle in the wind on that one but oh well. its something I've learned to deal with.

Brave decision. But from the photos I can tell that it was a good one and working out well.

I am impressed by the depth of field in the shots. All points are in focus and sharp. Something not easy for closeup shots. 8)

you should see the original pics. they look even alot better than the resized ones in my post.

Canon makes very good point-n-shoot cameras. I havent regretted getting rid of my DSLR equipment one bit.

oh, and by the way, thanks for the nice comments about my pics. :)

I agree. I used to have a G1 - while it's not a DLSR, it's as close as they came when I bought it  - and sold it for a more pocketable S400, and I haven't looked back. Great camera, amazing size!

You mean those weren't taken with a MPX220?

I have not noticed any addtional problems with earpiece volume with this case.

When I first saw the 2 small holes over the earpiece, I thought that would be a problem. But, like spokrie, the earpiece seems the same volume with the case on as it does with it off. I have firmware 1.3 but I wish Moto would make the earpiece volume even louder.

How does the plastic over the screen effect how it looks?

What about the plastic over the numeric keys? Doesn't that make it more difficult to 'type'? It seems like it would be a bit harder to press the keys and easier to press the wrong one, but I haven't actually tried it.

You can purchase this case on ebay for $7.99 so you might want to search on Cingular MPX220 case and save some money.

its not that bad at all. the keys are still pretty easy to use.

Just got 2 mpx220's and looking for a good case to protect the phone (from dropping it).

This case looks great, but does it attach to anything, like your belt? I did not see a clip attached to it, just some king of round thing on the back.

Does anyone else have any other recommendations for a case? Does motorola make one specifically for this case?

With the ring tone audio on the phone already being low compaired to other phones, what does this case do to that? I see the speaker holes but it must block some of the sound??

Definately very cool -- glad that they're coming out w/ accessories for it now.
