In fact there is no mention of it on the product page at all! Thanks to an astute source we find that the new version does indeed have a registry editor add on just like the Pocket PC version has always had. You have to go here to get it. The download link on the product page doesn't even get you the new version yet. I'm sure that their front page will catch up with their back page but until then you can check this out now. I have already downloaded it and it is a pleasure to use. :)

Wow this is like a flashback from 2003.

I believe the 2004 version had it as well as I was using it in my i600 days.

I think it was a plugin. If you went to the options, there was a checkbox to enable it if I remember correctly.

 Hey, nobody's perfect.

Seriously, I've only used Resco Explorer breifly, and never noticed this before - doesn't mean it wasn't there.

That's how it is now when you install it. I never saw it on the earlier versions I had though. In fact the other version you can download now does not have that option.

Well no matter how it got here, its good to have it. Finally what seems to be a nice stable registry editor for 2003 :)

Jerry, I can't seem to locate the add-in file on the Resco page that you reference in your first post.

Is the Resco solution different/better than using Smartione?

I'd like to change some of the features on my SMT5600, but don't want to make a second career out of it...

Your help is appreciated -

You have to install the new version 5.0 to get the registry editor option. The SmartPhone software is about half way down that linked page.

As to what is better it depends. If you want to work with the registry from within the phone with no PC available this is one answer. If you prefer using your PC to manage your phone registry then Smartione is a good choice.

I updated my copy last night only to find my reg codes don't work which is odd since you do get 1 year of updates from your date of purchase which was September 2004. I hope to hear back from them shortly. I have been trying out Smartione Reg Edit its alot easier on a desktop anyways.

There is a link on their site. They will send you updated codes automatically.

I had to do this to get the new reg code when I updated.
