I'm relatively new to the Smartphone world and during the course of my day to day use of my phone I've come across a couple of things that I can do on my PocketPC that I can't find on my Smartphone. I wasn't sure if I wasn't looking in the right place or if they're features that just aren't supported on the Smartphone O/S.

First, is there any type of Cut/Paste capability. For example, if I'm reading an E-mail and the text contains a website or phone number, I know I can click on the link and either automatically dial the number or go to the website. However, I can't find a way to Copy the number or website so that I can subsequently Paste it say in their contact record or notes section of their contact record. Being lazy :) , I hate having to retype the information if there's a better way.

Second, is there a way to scroll up or down real fast in areas with a lot of text. For example, on my PocketPC I can place the stylus on the "block" in the scrollbar and just drag it to the top/bottom of it's range and get to where I want quickly. Obviously we dont' have a stylus, but wondered if there was a key combination or some trick to achieve the same thing.

Finally, did I misconfigure something or did Microsoft miss the "Company Number" field from Outlook on the SmartPhone contacts? I was surprised to find just about every phone number I had in my Outlook contacts was there, but Company Number isn't a part of the list.

Thanks!

Microsoft Smartphone natively does not provide copy-paste. However, the wonderful and must have application called Xbar (http://www.smartphone.net/smartphonethoughts/software_detail.asp?id=442) [affiliate] does provide that functionality, using the volume up-down buttons.

Scrolling..I don't know of a way. I find it painful too..wish there were hot keys for that.

Company number or work number? I will have to take a look at Outlook. It does sync the work number.

It should sync whatever numbers you have setup in Outlook. I haven't tried Company number, but it should work.

I just tried a little experiment. I created a contact in outlook. I created a "Company" phone number and the number didn't show up on the phone, just the name. Apparently it will only bring numbers over that have headers that already exist in the smartphone version of outlook!
