It's kind of eerie - I could see much of this coming to pass. Give it a watch and share your comments - what does the future hold for media, both in how it's consumed and how it's created?

Very interesting, very insightful.

It will be interesting to look back in 10 years and see how accurate or inaccurate this is. 8)

wow! It is certainly plausible. This future could be developing right now in the R&D labs of these companies! And, ten years out is also certainly reasonable as well.

S p o o k y! Kinda like Matrix.

But definitely something I would want to happen. The speculated alliances may not happen, there may be far better options, but I have to admit, recently with the presidential elections and more recently with the tsunami, the bloggers and indivudual news contributors have made a lot of impact.

Not only that, Smartphone Thoughts and Thoughts Media Inc sites are part of the online media, that is publishing news stories, and there are tons of tech news sites, that I would like to monitor, listen and watch.

I have stopped watching the regular news channel because I don't find them catering to my diverse news needs. The only news channel I listen to is CNBC because of its focused news content. Even that will be changing because I am finding WSJ online provides good means to watch key CNBC video clips, and catch up on other news stories.

I subscribe to a ton of RSS news feeds. The filters help to get to news item I want to read.

But automated personlization of EPIC cannot be beaten. 8)

Oh no, the future is here now! check out this web site I stumbled across. The more news you click on, the more it learns what you like, and will display more news focused on your viewing habits. There is nothing to sign up or register with. 8O

In my long life most of what I have learned I stumbled across. Having everything tuned to my preferences would have left out a big part of my life.

New York Times to Buy About.com for $410 Million (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/nm/20050218/media_nm/media_about_newyorktimes_dc_3)

Looks like NY Times is trying to build up its empire.
