With various features like EVDO, WiFi, upto 5 MegaPixel camera, qwerty keyboard, and BlackBerry Connect, these phones are set to rock the mobile market. One of these phones is a Windows Mobile flip-style phone. <br /><br /><i>"Another EVDO product, the mysterious i645, is a flip-style Windows Smartphone with a megapixel camera. It has 32MB of RAM, an SDIO expansion slot and internal/external color displays. If and when it appears, it'll be harsh competition for Cingular's Motorola MPx220."</i><br /><br />Does any of this <a href="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6733">sound familiar?</a> :D<br /><br /><b>Edit:</b> Updated the "Sounds Familiar link. Thanks to Skitals, who reminded me of the real i645.

Huh? The samsung i645 has nothing to do with the recent prototypes you've seen on the net (http://www.connectedmobiles.com/index.php?articleid=35). The samsung i645 (http://phonearena.com/htmls/details.php?id=956) has been known about since early November, when it recieved FCC approval (http://phonearena.com/htmls/readarticles.php?id=407).

I've said it before - I'm not a big Samsung fan (got burned some time ago) but I am impressed with the jog dial - it would be the iPOD kille me thinks - that is if they could ever get it off the ground...

Imagine the ugliest phone you have ever seen, then glue some extra parts onto it. I bet that will get you pretty close.

Ah, yup. You're right. I'm getting all these models mixed up. I'll update the original post.

I rest my case. Is that a tumor growing off the bottom of that one phone??

Ok, ok...I'm still very happy with my SMT 5600 then.

By the way, that tumor is what Kris is looking for in a keyboard for his phone

That is no keyboard...that is a tumor. Eeeesh.

I like the idea. Definitely do. But it is a little big/bulky. I am sure they can make it slimmer. And I think I did mention it earlier and will repeat it anyways; it seems that the snap-on keyboard will block the access to the joypad buttons.

That's the way it is with the iPAQ 41xx and I haven't seen anyone complain. I agree with you, it's not the best design, but for some reason companies seem to think you can block over standard control buttons with clip-on devices. :?

Here is a nice image from PC Magazine.

Looks like Samsung has reviewed the color choice for the phone. ;-) I like the current silver choice. The styling is okay.

I'm sorry guys, that phone just looks bad. With or without the tumor.

To each his own I guess. I think the 645 looks better than the 600, but still not as nice as some other Smartphones. What I'm most interested in however is how the phone performs, it's stability and the ergonomics.

Let's hope they've improved each of these.
