He stumbled across directions posted on MTekk for Pocket PCs, and converted those for use with the Smartphone platform. It involves setting up a speed dial button for Activesync, and will allow you to sync through Bluetooth with the press of one button. Click the title of this post to get the full instructions.

Cool Tip!

Previously I had ActiveSync on Speed Dial, but had to go thru the Options menu...No more, thanks to this tip!

Works like a dream. Although I think this type of functionality should be in the phone as a default.

I had briefly tried it, but the lack of native BT support on my laptop means that ActiveSync forgets the COM port setting. And if I force ActiveSync to the BT COM port on my laptop, then ActiveSync cries when I boot up the laptop without the BT dongle. :-(

Without native BT, the ActiveSync is unreliable. BT may enable the connection or not. :-( Flaky.

All in all ActiveSync + BT + my laptop are not happy campers. So I gave up on this. Use USB mostly, this way I can charge the phone too.
