I just got my MPX220, I checked the version and was disapointed to find out it was 0.343. I got it online and my service is through AT&T. Do you think I should try and return it? If so should I go through the online place (probably getting the same version again), or what?

Supposedly .343 from ATTWS is the same as 1.30 from Cingular but thats a tough call.

I thought 343 was the same as 342 from Cingular. :worried:

It probably is, I cant imagine they would have two different version numbers even across cariers. I guess I will just hold out hope for a downloadable update at some point.

Has Moto ever hade a downloadable update for any phone?

No idea...guess not? What a waste of their time and money, is there any business logic behind not doing it I wonder?

Sure, just ask Dell. Dell's first attempt at releasing a updated PPC ROM was easily hackable. It ended up being usable by way more than the target audience. So, there is a good reason or two for not releasing an update for download.

The Samsung i600 upgrade fiasco is another good example of how wrong things can go.

Well, I think I will hang tight for a little while, then try and do an exchange by mail through AT&T. Any idea how long the warranty on this phone is?

I just returned mine through Cingular and they told me it had a one year warranty. It will be interesting to see which version I gat back.

The I700 from Verizon was also a huge fiasco. Cingular should have really not allowed ATTWS to sell it with their setttings it should have been a Cingular only this way the ROM issue wouldn't be one.
