Well I had found out that the Original MPx200 Car Charger works with the HTC Typhoon models (C500/SMT5600/SP3/SP3i).

So I stopped at the ex-AT&T shop and now Cingular to look for the MPx200 charger. Turns out since MPx200 is discontinued and AT&T is no longer AT&T, all AT&T accessories are marked down.

I got the Car Charger for $1.00! The best deal ever.

And it works with my SP3i. So I am sure it works with all HTC Typhoon models.

So check out the local ex-AT&T store.

Be careful. I've heard people have problems with items like the MPx200 Ziplinq's not working with the SMT5600....but they DO work with the C500. The 5600 may have a slightly different configuration down there. I'd hate to see someone fry a phone. Not 100% certain as I never followed up with this....just be careful.

Hmmm, if it could fry a phone I wonder if it could boost the MPx220 volume up a bit more. :rotfl:

Fair enough. A power adapter should be pretty easy to check since they usually have the output labeled on the charger. Kris, can you confirm that the MPx200 charger and the SMT5600 charger have the same output voltage?

It may have to do with the pinning or something like that....I'll find the thread if I can

Just saw these replies. I will make it a point to check the output on the car charger the next time I step out and compare it with my SP3i wall charger.

BTW...the car charger I bought is a GENUINE Motorola MPx200 Car Charger.

It has the Moto logo that glows green when plugged in. :? I found it be distracting/annoying at night. Not to mention it reminded me of the horrors I have had to get MPx220 replaced. Was worried that the sight of the glowing M logo might cause me to crash my car into something. :x Had to put a piece of tape over it.

One question Kris. Could you hear your car with the charger plugged in??
