I noticed while browsing through my phone there are several preset ext. LCD backgrounds.,but can not find them when exploring through the files.
Is ther a way to create and upload your own images to the ext. display.
I would think it would be a simple task but I cannot figure it out.
Maybe the three days of web-surfing and phone manipulating, I am over looking an easy solution.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Doesn't it use these?
"\Storage\Application Data\Home"
and
"\Windows" (of course if it's only this one, it isn't going to survive a reboot, that would be annoying).

Hmm, I see what you mean. The JPGs are obviously in "\Windows" e.g.
wp_urban_dream_96x64_c.jpg
But there's no apparent way to add them as options in settings -> Phone (the 2nd one).

They go in:
\Storage\My Documents\ExtLCD
Once the images are there you can select them in the phone settings :)

I don't know how I didn't see that. I thought I went through all the folders dozens of times.
Thank you for pointing it out to me. I knew it had to be simple and possible but couldn't get my fingers on it!
I really appreciate it!

Its kind of in a strange place. I wouldn't have thought to look in "My Documents" for a system folder. I can't remember if I read it someplace or stumbled into it myself :)

Can you put the external images on the mini-SD or do they have to be on the phone?

They have to be in that folder mentioned above. There might be a registry entry to change it but I haven't looked for it myself.

They're so small, it probably won't make much difference. I just like to have everything on the mini-SD if possible.
Thanks,

i wouldn't recommend doing this unless you're comfortable making registry changes, but the registry modification to use External LCD pics from the miniSD is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel
ExternalLCD\BgImage, then change the Data value to the directory where the picture is stored. for me this was \Storage Card\My Documents\ExLCD\Rubix.jpg. you'll have to reboot the phone for the change to take affect. the only reason i'm doing this is because i prefer using the miniSD to store items as long as the phone can access them.
