Set T9 Text Input as Default?

Does anyone know how to set the T9 text input as the default input method for Windows Mobile 2003SE?

I have the Audiovox SMT5600 and everytime I go to enter text, whether it be in a web page, or Outlook, the input method always starts off as Abc and I have to manually change it.

Is this possible? Is there an easy way to do it in the MS OS? or do I have to figure out how to hack the reg?

Some application do remember which input mechanisms was used last by the user. Like mail client (while typing message body) for example.

But I too would like to find out a way to force it to default to T9 (iTAP in my case).
