Jabra is one of the best Bluetooth headsets I know of, and <br /><a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=smartphonetho-20&path=ASIN%2FB000246XQE">Amazon</a> has a pretty nice deal on them.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/Temporale-20041029-JabraFreeSpeak.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/><br /><br />I remember reading a couple posts on other sites about people getting stopped and fined for not using a handsfree unit while driving. So remember to play safe! [Affiliate]

I believe there is known issues with jabra 250 and the c500/SMT5600 varient of the ms smartphone. I think it would be a good idea to talk about that - so anyone looking to buy one of these make sure that you understand what is involved.

I had a 250 up until a week ago and thought it was pretty good. I switched to the Motorola HS810 because it folds up nicely and uses the same charger as my two phones :)

My Jabra 250 works very well with my SMT5600. I'm still waiting for a good bluetooth1.2 headset. I don't like the Motorola. I think the Jabra BT800 will be the one for me. I like the idea of caller id.

The Mot is not as comfortable to wear as the Jabra is.

I have 2 questions re: bluetooth and the smt5600:

1 - when i answer the phone with the headset, the caller gets a really loud sound at the other end for a quick second as i answer. when i answer via the phone, then transfer to the headset, it doesn't!?

2 - Also, it auto connects to my phone (Awesome) but changes the profile to 'headset' (NOT awesome) - thus making the ringer choice, volume, etc unchangeable. I use my headset ALL the time, and would like to be able to pick a different profile (office, silent, normal, etc) while still using the headset!! this seems pretty normal - am I missing something here????

Thanks

I don't know about the loud noise. I never had that problem with my 5600 or any device for that matter.

As far as I know, you are stuck with the headset profile. Maybe someone else here knows different.

The loud noise sounds like an issue with the headset. Do you have another headset that you can try with the 5600?

I can find one, no doubt - just thought maybe it had been discussed/known before.......

also, anyone know about the headset profile issue???
it would be awesome to have bluetooth be used in multiple situations with multiple profiles..........

on a side note (granted, this is speaking to the 'choir'), I don't know why i ever gave up on smartphone!!! (altho the mpx220 i had was kinda flaky)!??! I LOVE what all it does. just as a phone, not even counting the wmp, games, extra apps, etc!! Just pure phone use - i LOVE being able to dial via T9! and the screen - OMG!! 8O
and this is even with a WM03se and not a QVGA screen!!!!!!
well, either way, now i just have to figure out whether or not i want to upgrade to a 2125 or an SDA! I would love to have wifi, but i prefer the black over silver..... hmmmmmmmmm!

Have you found an answer to the question about the loud noise when answering from the Jabra headset?

My callers are getting annoyed with me because it happens all the time.
