MSN Messenger GPRS? on MPX220

A lot of other phones use a hybrid text message messenger, but I assume the MSN messenger uses GPRS on the mpx220?

Yes, everytime I sign in or am chatting, I see the mini "G" show up next to the cell signal bars. So it is using GPRS.

I believe SMS text message mechanism is used on legacy devices, that do not provide good network layer. Smartphones do. :-)

Why do u need to use GPRS chating? You cant use msn messenger over GSM or the other two?
