I'm wondering if I can assign specific ring tones to a particular person when they call. Once upon a time I had a phone that would let me do this. I would like to do this again. Especially since this phone handles ring tones very well!! I may not be finding it though. I have spent all day doodling with the phone and getting it all set up. But, in the pdf manual and the online tutorial from AT&T I'm not seeing anything that mentions this. Of course, that doesn't mean it's not there.

By the way, I have to say I LOVE that this phone has a "loud" volume setting. I can actually hear the phone ringing when it's in my bag. That's just one of many, many things I love about this phone though. If I can't do the individual ringtones as part of the caller ID, I can certainly live without it.

Yup, custom ringtones by contact is built-in. Just select the contact, click edit, and scroll down to "custom ring tone". It's that easy.

Make sure you put the ringtones in the right folder. They should be in \Storage\Application Data\Sounds

Have fun!

Clearly I had been doodling with the phone too long yesterday. As soon as I get up this morning and look at your reply, I went right to it. Thanks!!

No problem! Post back and let us know how it works out for you, or if you have any more questions. :D

I have tried the above and my custom ringtones do not translate over to reminders, alerts, e-mail etc..
Should these files be mp3 or wav?
The only placethat my customizable tones work is for ringtones.
Any suggestions?
Thank You,
Marie
