SMT5600 and AT&T

As much as I want to get an SMT5600, I'm reluctant to commit to AT&T based on thier declining corporate performance. (i.e. how long will I have service?) I currently have standard GSM service with AT&T and am reasonably happy with the service. I'm interested in some educated opinions on where AT&T is heading and if I have anything to worry about.

I don't think they will disappear. Since Cingular has purchased them, you have nothing to worry about. If anything, I would expect them to start working at keep customers happy. Which means better plans? coverage?
