A number of EMEA online retailers are starting to list the MPx220 for sale. Is it safe to assume that "Garantie: 12 mnd" on GsmHut.nl MPx220 page means "12 months contract" or something like.

If that is true then Euro 441 = US $550 8O :evil: :cry:

Safe, maybe, but correct: no.
"Garantie" means "guarantee" - so if it breaks in the first year, you'll get a new one.
"12 months contract" would have looked like this: "contractperiode 12 maanden".
