It combines a wall charger and car charger into one unit. All you need is a USB-based sync 'n charge cable to connect to the VersaCharger. Cool! :D

I like the product design - the cap for the car charger connector and also the power plug that folds in.

Now..if we can get the Camera, Pocket PC and Electric Shaver companies to standardize on USB chargers, that would be something awesome. :-)

Now this is a great idea. I agree completely that a little standardizing will go a long way. I have no idea what possessed Motorola to go with their own proprietary charger on the Mpx220 and Mpx, the delays are because they are rethinking the decision and are going to fix it? :)

If all my gadgets used the same mini-USB, I could really simplify my life and need a lot less chargers, connectors, and cables. In fact, I'm not sure if it would reduce prices much, but it would be kind of nice if everything used the same connectors and you could buy a few gadgets WITHOUT the charger, since you wouldn't need a charger for every device if they each worked with multiple devices.

And, unfortunately, that's exactly why this won't ever happen. It's all about profits - a phone/PDA company might make a 15% margin selling you the device, but a 60% margin selling you a car charger that works with that exact device.

Now this is an ingenious design. I'm totally getting one.

This would be very useful for me, as my C500 and Tungsten E both us ethe same USB cable.

Are there any potential problems with it not using the correct voltage? Could a device be fried? I am completely ignorant of these matters.

Cheers,

Nik

No, AFAIK it regulates itself to the device.

Even if they use different USB cables, as long as one endis a regular USB, then it will work with this.

Very cool idea. Good job Boxwave.
