$1000+ for a frikin' phone?! It would appear that someone has a sense of humor.

Before you buy it, make sure you get a ROM update for the final version from them!
Keep in mind that so far Motorola never released a Smartphone ROM update (so far they only had the MPx200) and I don't see they will change this in future!
So if you buy such a device today, you might "never" get a final ROM for it and as far as I can tell you today, there are some several good ROM reasons, why it isn't released so far.

Has Motorola released a suggested retail price on the MPx220 yet?

Phonescoop.com shows that Cingular and AT&T will be carrying the 220, but anyone know if T-MO USA will be getting a Smartphone any time in the near future? Otherwise I may just have to pick one up without contract, if they are unlocked of course!

and the black model has an available date of October 26th now. I noticed that no one has spent the $1,300+ on the silver phone, as the stock still indicates 13 units.

Hi sbrown23

Motorola has not released the price. But I am sure it won't be $1000.

Regarding T-Mobile and Smartphones; T-Mobile Europe is launching a Smartphone called SDA soon. But they have not stated whether or not it will be launched in US.

If these are pre-production units, which they appear to be, I find it odd that they have managed to get their hands on 13 of them. :?

This has got to be a load of

There is no way i'd ever pay that much for a phone - I don't care how "smart" it is...

Hi

I googled Motorola Mpx 220 and found it for sale at the following URL:
http://www.welectronics.com/gsm/MOTOROLA.shtml
(Its at the bottom of the page).
There You can see that shop specifies two prices for the phone 434,99 $ and 849,99 $.
I don't know which of them are the accurate price !

1500, 00 $ for this phone ? That can't be true

If you click through to the next page ( http://www.welectronics.com/gsm/motorola_mpx220.html ) it says "Pre-Order only" :( Where these guys are actually selling it now.

Well, they are looking for suckers!

The mpx220 has not officially been released anywhere in the world, has it?

So how could they have it in stock?

Perhaps some prototype models, that do not have the bugs ironed out yet, were not made for sale, have no warranty, etc. Possibly someone who had some prototypes for review sold them on ebay, and this outfit bought them, and is trying to re-sell them at an exorbitant price, to suckers who would pay anything to be the "first" person to get one.

Or--perhaps they have nothing--sheer vaporware! Anyone who would place such an order would have to have a screw loose!
