I want to know what is considered "next-generation". I don't use iTunes since Apple has neglected to allow Canadians to buy from their site. However, I think this is something that a fair number of Smartphone users would like to have on their devices.

I wonder if by the Next Generation phones, Motorola means the Microsoft Smartphones.

At Mobile Developer Conference, Motorola was talking about how tough it is to implement DRM on Windows Mobile platform. The openness of the platform makes it tough for the manufacturer to ensure that the copyrighted material does not get transferred/distributed out illegally.

They were leaning towards proprietary OSes for solutions/products that require DRM.
