Terminal app, serial connection for i600?

Is there any way to hook up serial devices to the i600 and use a serial application (or a custom .NET application with WM2003) to read data? I'm thinking of connecting a scale, or GPS receiver, or whatever.

Just for this reason I had requested (fews months back) Samsung Developer site to provide more information on the Pinout of the connector on the i600. They said they are working towards providing the developer with better support/information.

Have you checked if the i600 comes with a serial cradle/sync connector. You can use that to hook up the GPS.

Smartphones do support serial protocol. The hurdle would be making the serial cable.
