Compal declined to comment on the news."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/MPx100.jpg" alt="User submitted image" title="User submitted image"/> <br /><br />While there is still no word from Motorola on this, it's starting to look like the MPx100 is not going to see the light of day. Hopefully this is just an engineering delay, and we'll see the phone ship sometime in the new year. <br /><br />My question for all of you is this: Was the MPx100 a phone you would have considered purchasing as your next Smartphone? And as a reminder, the MPx100 was (is?) a candy-bar designed Smartphone running Window Mobile 2003 with Bluetooth, and a MegaPixel camera.

Crap

Looks like an unlocked MPx220 on T-Mobile for me. God I hope they fixed the RF on that phone vs the x200... :(

So close yet so far....

My need for a MS Smartphone with Bluetooth is so great, I was SERIOUSLY considering purchasing the MPx100 as I was *assuming* it would be released *sooner* than the MPx220. Why did I assume that? Various reasons, but a big one it is the *only* one of the new MPx devices that was listed on PhoneScoop.com ( http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=477 ) for a long time.

But WAIT....I just discovered, while dredging up that link, that the MPx220 JUST appeared on PhoneScoop.com!! ( http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=478 )

Some bad news, but some good news I guess.

While I am not certain that the MPx100 is "dead" yet, it's a shame that it will at best appear later rather than sooner.

This would have been a device of choice for me. I really to like the candybar form factor, and the Bluetooth would finally make me stop longing for my old T610 (replaced in favor of a non-BT Mitac Mio 8380).

Oh well...

I personally prefer the candybar style - not sure why, but it just suits me. The Mpx100 was looking to be the best, lower cost option for me to get back into the Smartphone OS - I dabbled with an SPV, but in the end, had too many bugs that I was unwilling to live with. I was hoping the 2003 version would be much improved, and that the Mpx100 would replace my current phone.

Hope this is just a short delay, and not an outright cancellation........

Classy, modern styling...sigh...I will miss it, if this news is true.

I was not a fan of the candybar form factor, but this one converted me.

The other attractive reasons, price and that it may be available on T-Mobile's network...sigh :(
