I have an original iPad that I'm thinking of selling so I read this article with interest, and I'm glad I did since it appears I'm going to be able to get $170 USD for it based on the info I provided here. That will take a big chunk of the damage for the new iPad I'm guessing. There are other options listed in the article as well, so if you are considering selling, it's worth reading.

But you only get an Apple Gift Card. That's fine if you sell the old first, then buy the new.

But if you buy the new first, then sell the old, eBay Instant Sale is better - I got offered $415 (vs $395) for a 64GB Wifi + 3G iPad 2, and they give you cash. I used them on my iPad 1 and two iPhones and had zero problems.

I looked at one place - Gazelle I think - and was appalled at the price I'd get. An iPad 2, 64 GB model, in mint condition, would only net me $270. I paid $700 for it less than 12 months ago, and I'm sure they're selling used (even after the announcement) for much more than $270. For $270, it's worth keeping it in a room as a dedicated room computing device...
