Hitachie G1000 and Exchange 2003

Hey everyone I am just finally getting my first smartphone, and I have been looking at the G1000 from Sprint. My main use is to get access to our companies Exchange 2003 server. I was curious to find out if anyone knew if the G1000 could connect to this version of Exchange? Also can I essentially have full access to a lot of the features like I already do in Outlook ie: viewing team calendars, etc? I also plan on using it for its web access and GPS abilities.

Also since the unit is still expensive, does anyone know of something better out there, or even some spy pics of something newer and better coming to the market here very soon?
