Volume pricing for the chip that combines the two wireless standards sits at less than $10 per unit."<br /><br />Now there is no reason for a manufacturer to leave one of these two wireless technologies out of their latest mobile phone. :D

:? Not sure. I don't recall that, and I was looking around the OMAP website and can't seem to find a mention of that...

WiFi and BT on a single chip for that price is AWESOME! Now we should be able to have both without any hassles.

I found reference on their site about the WANDA reference PDA which has those features and many more, however, as it states, it uses a series of Ti chips to do so, including the OMAP processor. My mistake.
From the Ti OMAP site, referring to WANDA:
Primary TI components and their functions include:
Application processing is handled by the OMAP1510, an ARM925 and TMS320C55x™ DSP.
Bluetooth connectivity is provided by TI´s BRF6100 single-chip device that integrates digital RF and Bluetooth baseband on one chip.
The TNETW1100B is TI´s single-chip MAC and baseband processor for 802.11b.
The TCS2100 GSM/GPRS digital and analog baseband, power management and software protocol stack for voice/data.
Cheers, Jack
