Charger has an amber blinking light

On the desk charger for the Samsung i-600, what does it mean if the charger for the phone starts blinking amber? It will start off red like it's charging, then go to blinking amber. I switched batteries, and it does the same thing. If I stick the batter in the back slot, it charges fine.

Mine does this sometimes. When I push the phone down from the top of the phone, it goes red and stays red.
