Many of you noticed yesterday that the Tek 'n Toys pre-order links weren't working. There was a slight glitch, but it's since been corrected, and all three pre-order links are now working again:

• Motorola MPx100 (http://estore.shopplex.com/app/storefront.aspx?cat_id=162&inv_id=40507115841324&modid=30214092059015&aid=5)
• Motorola MPx220 (http://estore.shopplex.com/app/storefront.aspx?cat_id=162&inv_id=40507121601319&modid=30214092059015&aid=5)
• MiTAC 8390 (http://estore.shopplex.com/app/storefront.aspx?cat_id=162&inv_id=40507115248690&modid=30214092059015&aid=5)

I'm chomping at the bit to get pricing information and availability dates, and as soon as I do I'll post it on the site. Which Smartphone are you looking forward to the most?

I like the style of the MPx100 but the specs for the MPx220 seem a bit better. Though you really cant tell as some of the specs on the site seem to be wrong. Like screensize for example. It doesnt even say that the 220 has a memory slot.

But one thing that is correct is that the MPx220 will be quad band and I will need the 850 band after the cingular takover of at&t so that will be the one for me.

All of the new Moto phones should be Quad band. That is what they presented at the MDC in San Fran. However the Press Release from Moto indicates Tri band. If you go with the most recent date, then all Moto Smartphones should be Quad. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm not sure which one to get. I want Bluetooth and a camera, but I'm not sure if I want a flip phone or not. I need to get my hands on a flip phone and try it out for a little while first.

It doesnt even say that the 220 has a memory slot.

The link does mention that the MPx220 has SD card slot (Both in the description and specifications).

However there was some speculation that it might be mini-SD. I guess we will have to wait for the official Motorola announcement.

Mike, come on, you cannot ditch the Candy Bar Phone Lovers Union. This is the phone that will revive the candy bar style :-)

I have seen the MPx100 and couldn't take my eyes off it. My problem is that I am too clumsy. And not used to locking the keypad.

I know. It's a scary step, but I got slammed in the poll (http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=5148&highlight=) and I feel that I need to see what I'm missing.

Official announcement has not been made. But according to the rumors it will be AT&T.

These phones that are currently on pre-sale, are unlocked phones. And will work with AT&T and T-Mobile.

And MPx220 because it is Quad Band, will also work on Cingular.

Everything I've been able to learn is that the MPx100 is tri-band (no GSM 850 :( ) and has a MINI-SD Slot. That as opposed to the MPx220 which is quad band (important because I'm a US AT&T Wireless customer) AND a full size SD Slot.

For those reasons, despite personally prefering the candy bar form factor, I'm going with the MPx220. Of course, the initial reported specs on each of these units may be wrong, which is why I reserve the right to change my mind :P

One thing is for sure......I will be buying eirther the 100 or 200 MPx and I can't wait until they're here (especiallyonce AT&T has them).
