Hi. I've searched the threads on this list to see if this is a FAQ but have not found others with this problem so far.

I've been able to install applications to my i600 over ActiveSync in the past, but it no longer works. The installation finishes without error on my desktop, the little "xxx.CAB file is being installed" message appears on the smartphone for a very short period--about a second--then goes away without error. The application does not appear in the Programs list, nor in the Program Files folder. It doesn't even show up in the list of Applications from ActiveSync.

If I copy a xxx.CAB file to the phone and click it, it installs fine. But not a lot of software is distributed this way.

Yes, I have applied the HKCRfix to unlock application installation. Still have 12MB free on the phone.

Any help or clue is appreciated greatly!!!

Thanks,

Mark Arend

I thought CAB files are meant to be installed from the phone and not over ActiveSync. I don't think there is anything wrong on your phone. That's just the way CAB files work.

Are we talking about a specific application you are trying to install or all of them?

I had the exact same problem with my phone. The cure for it was doing a hard reset. Be advised though that a hard reset will require some reinstallation of apps and tweaks. Good luck
