<div class='os_post_top_link'><a href='http://www.syncdata.it/sphnotes.html' target='_blank'>http://www.syncdata.it/sphnotes.html</a><br /><br /></div>"SmartphoneNotes is an ActiveSync service provider that enables synchronization of Microsoft Outlook text notes with Microsoft Windows Powered Smartphone devices. Text notes are not natively supported on Smartphone, therefore we have provided an application that can be used to view and edit your Outlook Notes on the phone. In addition, you can create new notes that will be transferred to Microsoft Outlook at next synchronization, along with all of your changes and deletions."<br /><br />At first I thought this was kind of strange because it sounded like a new codebase just for the i600, but I forgot about the application locking issue. Giuseppe Govi, the developer of SmartphoneNotes, had this to say on the issue:<br /><br />"VZW has set a security policy on the i600 - not as restrictive as Orange, but still applications dealing with privileged calls (such as ActiveSync providers) must be signed with VZW privileged certificate; the standard Verisign or Geotrust certificates are not working. So the code is basically the same as SmartphoneNotes for Orange and SmartphoneNotes for unlocked phones, but it is signed with VZW privileged certificate."<br /><br />Samsung i600 users rejoice! Notes cometh!

The application works just fine on my Samsung at home. However, at work I upgraded Active Sync to the newest version and it won't sync. I've sent a note to the developers. Be careful about upgrading.

Finally a way to take a few short notes and sync them to the PC. This really seems to be a useful piece of software that makes the Smartphone a better tool. It is also an easy way to carry around useful information however I have e-wallet and Repligo for that as well. I do wish that it had an "exit" feature like Power Calendar and some other Smartphone software. Anyway I'm buying it.

The developer says that my problem is related to Outloook, not Active Sync. Since we use Outlook 98 at work, and that is where I have the problem, anyone using it might want to test it out before buying.

I was happy to see Smartphone Notes available for the i600 as the capability to sync notes is valuable. I have installed the trial version and am happy with the note features. However, I having problems with wireless sync. My phone syncs fine through the cradle including smartphone notes. However, it will not sync wirelessly. The sync program bombs early in the sync stage. When I de-select SmartphoneNotes the phone syncs fine wirelessly. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
