Looks like T-Mobile has enabled roaming for its customers on AT&T..

Was driving this weekend..and to my surprise...at places where I didnt get any coverage..now I find that my phone switches to AT&T 8O

I hope the roaming is the same way as in case of AT&T...I mean no charge.

However I noticed that I cannot access GPRS when roaming on AT&T network. But atleast now I have voice.

Has anyone else noticed this...

I am planning to call T-Mobile and find out the details.

Just spoke with T-Mobile, they have now agreement with AT&T that enables T-Mobile customers to roam on AT&T networks.

For T-Mobile customers on nationwide plan, there will be no roaming charge :-)

Regarding GPRS, I was told that there is no guarantee for GPRS availability when roaming :-(

Overall I am happy...I was planning on switching teams and joining Verizon. Then AT&T announced roaming on Cingular and T-Mobile. And I was praying for T-Mobile to do the same.

Now all I need is a quad band GSM Smartphone, with BT, WM2003...

T-Mobile with its aggressive data plan pricing and now this roaming arrangement with AT&T (they already had Cingular roaming) is certainly positioned for growth.

Too bad we have an answer on the Motorola Phones. They could be everything you are looking for.
