The other day I got an email in my inbox from an friend who works for Rogers Wireless here in Canada. He informs me that Sony Ericsson is working on a Windows Mobile based Smartphone and Rogers Wireless will be the first carrier worldwide to offer this phone. We have been trading emails back and forth over the last couple days as I have been trying to pull some details out of him. He is going to be testing it on the phone for compatability on the Rogers network over the next couple of months. With any luck I will be able to get some photo's from him over the weekend. However, the specs that I have at this time are as follows:
The phone is about the same size and shape as the T616
Windows Mobile 2003 software for Smartphone
IntelR PXA299
octuple-band phone
5.2MegaPixel digital camera, with a zoom lens and adjustable focus and brightness
Secure Digital - none of this mini crap. :)
256 Meg RAM / 96 Meg ROM

[B]UPDATE:</A> I just got another email with new specs, so I've updated the list above...

I would think it is. Any other day of the year I would at least be hoping for it to be true...

Okay... I almost fell for it...

There was a time when Ericsson offered an HPC... a Windows CE device...

Well, the specs are just too good to be true... As small as a T616??? 8O

hehehe

Mabuhay!!!

If it weren't April 1, and if you said it had a memory stick slot, I might have believed it. Not!

SonyEricsson is 100% committed to Symbian so this was too off base to fool me.
