MSMobiles has a MPx200 running Windows Mobile 2003, so I suppose this shows that an update really does exist. From what I've heard, Microsoft was providing upgrades last week at MDC?

It wasn't Microsoft. Dell, HP, and Moto where all boing upgrades last week at MDC. The upgrades are to beta versions and in some cases (HP 22xx) there was lost functionality. (No bluetooth support)

The ability exists, after all these do have flash ROMs. But that doesnt mean we'll see it released. In fact, Dell has already annouced that they will not be providing upgrades. This was after flashing devies last week.

Ah, that is too bad. I really hope they do come out with an update for the Mpx200 though... Windows Mobile 2003 is obviously quite a bit better functionality wise.

I got some more replies from Motorola. There is currently, absolutely, NO WM2003 upgrade in the works for the MPx200; the "upgrade" to WM2003, according to Motorola, is in the form of the MPx220.

I am really not sure how msmobiles got their hands on a WM2003 MPx200 apart from someone illicitly loading the new software on their own.

As long as the MPx220 has the same SDIO slot I will be a happy man. If they include bluetooth I will be very happy
