This time he's snapping pictures of Motorola's MPx Family presentation. Both devices are based on WM2003SE, MPEG4, AAC, and DRM aware. The MPx will have 802.11b built-in, while with the MPx100 it will be available from a "Dedicated Accessory" and both devices will be VOIP Enabled. For all the details check out Rey's pictures of the presentation and all his hands on pictures of the MPx. (MPx100 pictures to come soon).<br /><br />I am still in shock over how small the MPx really is. Incredible. :D

If I had known Rey is gonna post pictures of every slide, I would have attended some other session....naah...would have never missed this Moto presentation.
MPx is cool...it is small...I would say it is as bulky as the first gen clamshell...but then its feature packed.
But Mike, you (& everyone) will love the MPx100...the finish and the feel of the phone is awesome...much better than MPx. It can resurrect the candy bar style.
And the feel I got from the presentation was that Motorola was serious about Windows Mobile Platform. And they have lots of cool products/variations planned for the future. (They would not give dates or details, but CDMA market is not being ignored).
In one of the earlier threads, there was a talk about how Motorola is using Windows Mobile as a stop gap arrangement till its Linux platform matures. Well I feel that, Motorola is planning on having two base product families, one for consumer which will use Linux. And other for the enterprise, which will use Windows Mobile.
Its amazing how much attention to detail Moto is giving to its phones, in terms of design, features etc. "Dedicated Accessory" is one such thing.

Woohoo!!! Rey wasn't able to get his hands on the MPx100 after the presentation, the demand was too huge. So I'm hoping for some pictures from him today. 8)

I got a similair feeling when I looked at those slides. It seems like that have put a lot of thought and effort into this line of phones, and I just couldn't see them doing this much to turn their back and walk away. Putting DRM into the phones is a good example.

Ya, we posted on this somewhere. I have also heard that HP, and Dell are doing the same. So, what are you having flashed?

Do you mean Dell and HP from 2003 to 2003SE? <confused>
Hopefully the new Moto upgrade for the MPx200 will fix the issues so the US will actually have a fully functioning WM Smartphone! :D

Yup. However, This doesn't mean that they will make these upgrades publicly available. In fact, there is a story on PPCT right now about how Dell will not be offering upgrades to existing customers (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=229472).

Maybe Dell is thinking about the fiasco they had getting their last OS upgrade out-the-door. :)
